I've been posting over at www.comicboards.com for years. Alvaro has set up a great community over there. Just recenetly have I started coming here. At DC's site, I only really post here and at the DC Direct board. For discussion of current comics I stick to Alvaro's or the Island of Misfit Comics boards. Chris www.comicboards.com IP: Logged |

I only post on three boards: Archives, Marvel Masterworks, and Dixionverse. These three are, for me, the last refuges of sensibility in on-line comic book fandom. More often than not I have found other boards filled with ignorance, stupidity, and downright vitriolic behavior. IP: Logged |

Right now I'm really missing the Warren Ellis Forum. Not only was there a lot of talk about comics (skewed heavily toward current and independent stuff, admittedly--what we talk about here would strike most of the folks who posted there as hopelessly geeky), but there was always at least one news thread, and at times like the coup--excuse me, Presidential Election of 2000, or the events of 9/11/01 and the aftermath, there was constant discussion at a pretty high intellectual level with lots of input from the US, Canada, Britain, and Australia and bits and pieces from elsewhere. Politics was welcome, and Warren and his assistants saw to it that everyone stayed civilized about it. I'm sure there are lots of political sites out there, but it was somehow comforting to be able to talk about the real world with people who share my peculiar tastes.... IP: Logged |

Just here, due to the depth of knowledge. Plus I mail order the few new books I get so it's hard to keep up with the new comics boards. And last but not least, people here are polite. I tried the DK2 and Batman boards once, I had no idea people could be so rude/idiotic/etc. Thinking about posting on BARBELiTH but haven't yet. Joe IP: Logged |
